Meet the team
An all-female team of hygienists, treatment coordinators and patient relations, led by specialist orthodontist Dr. Catherine McLeod. The people who will know your name by your second visit.

Every member of our team is highly skilled, qualified, and here because they love what they do. From your very first visit, you are in gentle, experienced hands.
Led by Dr. Catherine McLeod
Every treatment plan at Embrace Orthodontics is designed and delivered by Dr. Catherine McLeod, a registered specialist orthodontist in Canada, with multi-national specialist experience gained across Australia and Canada, and Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Around her is a close-knit team who make every visit feel easy, from your first phone call to the day your braces come off.
She is quick to say that a practice is only as good as the people in it. The team around her, all women, have chosen to spend their careers making orthodontics feel calm and human for Halifax families, and it shows in the small things: a reassuring word for a nervous eight-year-old, a coordinator who remembers your other children's names, an appointment that runs to time so your day is not swallowed whole.
Our team
Hygienists, treatment coordinators, patient relations and admin, all here to make your visits comfortable and your questions easy to ask. Photos are on the way; the people are already here, and they are a big part of why first visits feel so easy.

Good vibes, and a family feel by design
Patients tell us Embrace Orthodontics has good vibes. We take that as the highest compliment, because it is the thing we work hardest at. We are a small, all-female team in a privately owned, locally grown Halifax practice, which means you see the same familiar faces each visit rather than a rotating cast. By your second appointment, the people at the desk and in the chair know your name, and usually a little about your week.
That warmth matters most with the patients who are nervous, and children especially. Anxious kids are met with gentleness and patience, never rushed, and they almost always leave a little prouder of themselves than when they came in, often after a laugh or two. There are no needles and nothing uncomfortable at a first check, and little ones are welcome to bring a favourite stuffed friend along for moral support.
Brothers, sisters and parents often end up in treatment together, and we love that: one trip to Spring Garden Road can look after two or three of you at once.
Behind the friendly front is a lot of skill. Everyone here is highly trained and genuinely likes the work, and that is the quiet reason the whole thing runs so smoothly. You can read more about what sets Embrace Orthodontics apart, or simply come and feel it for yourself at a free consultation.
The people behind each part of your care
Orthodontics is a team effort, and it helps to know who is who, so here is a quick guide to the roles you will come across. Your treatment coordinator is often the first person you meet, and the one who walks you through your plan, your timeline and the cost, then keeps things on track from start to finish. Our orthodontic hygienists and dental assistants are the ones beside you in the chair, placing and adjusting your braces or aligners, taking your iTero scans, and showing you how to keep everything clean between visits.
Away from the chair, our patient relations and office team look after the parts that make life easier: booking around school and work, sorting your forms, submitting to your insurer, and answering the questions that pop up mid-treatment. It is a deliberately close-knit group, so you are not handed off to a call centre or a stranger; the person who books you is often the person who greets you. And because we are specialist-led, every clinical decision still runs through Dr. Catherine McLeod herself. If you are getting ready for a first visit, our new patient page walks you through exactly what to expect.
Come and meet us in person
Your first consultation is free, with no referral needed, and most new patients are seen within a week. Bring the family, bring your questions, and we will do the rest. We would love to meet you.
