Two minute smile quiz

The Embrace Smile Quiz

Two minutes, five quick questions, and a tailored starting point, whether it is for you or your child. Then a free consultation with Dr. Catherine McLeod to confirm it, in Halifax or over Zoom.

Two minute quiz

Find your starting point

Answer five quick questions and we will suggest where to begin. It is a starting point, not a diagnosis, and Dr. Catherine McLeod confirms everything at your free consultation.

Step 1 of 5

Who is this smile for?

How it works

How the smile quiz works

The quiz asks five short questions: who the smile is for, roughly how old they are, the main thing you would change, what matters most to you, and when you would like to start. It takes about two minutes, and there are no wrong answers.

Your answers do two useful things. They point you to the pages on this site that fit your situation, so you are reading about the right treatment rather than working through all of them. And they give the practice a head start before you come in, so your free consultation gets to the useful part sooner.

What the quiz will not do is diagnose anything. Straightening teeth is a clinical decision that depends on your teeth, your bite and how your jaws are growing, and none of that can be judged from five taps on a screen. Treat the result as a friendly starting point, then let Dr. Catherine McLeod confirm it. If you would rather browse first, our treatments overview and a free virtual consultation are good places to start.

What happens next

What happens at your free consultation

Whatever the quiz suggests, the next step is the same and it is free. You do not need a referral to book, and there is no waitlist to join. Most patients are seen within one week of asking for their complimentary consultation at our Spring Garden Road practice.

At the visit, Dr. Catherine McLeod examines the teeth, bite and jaws and talks through what she sees in clear, everyday language. Where it helps, we take a quick iTero digital scan instead of the old goopy impressions, so you can see the teeth on screen. If treatment makes sense, you leave with an honest recommendation and an exact, all-in quote in writing, with interest-free monthly plans from $149 if you would like to spread the cost.

If treatment is not needed yet, she will tell you that too. For growing children that often means keeping a friendly eye on things with free growth monitoring rather than starting anything early. Either way, you leave knowing exactly where you stand. When you are ready, book a free consultation or read more about your investment and the monthly plans.

Good to know

Smile quiz questions, answered

A few things people ask before they start. For everything else, see our full FAQ.

Is the smile quiz a diagnosis?
No. The smile quiz gives you a starting point, not a diagnosis. Straightening teeth depends on your teeth, your bite and how your jaws are growing, and none of that can be judged from a few questions online. Think of the result as a friendly pointer toward the right information. Dr. Catherine McLeod confirms what is actually going on at your free consultation in Halifax, in person or over a virtual smile consult.
Is the quiz free, and do I have to book anything?
The quiz is completely free and there is nothing to sign up for, no email required and nothing stored on your device. You can take it as many times as you like. If you want to go further, the consultation with Dr. Catherine McLeod is free too, with no referral needed and no obligation to start treatment. You are always in control of the next step.
What ages is the smile quiz for?
Every age. Embrace Orthodontics treats children, teens and adults across Halifax, so the quiz covers young children, school age children, teenagers and grown-ups. The Canadian Association of Orthodontists suggests a first orthodontic visit no later than age seven, so the quiz points younger children toward early treatment and growth monitoring rather than braces, while teens and adults are pointed to the options that tend to suit them.
What if my answers do not fit neatly?
That is completely normal, and it is exactly what the free consultation is for. Real mouths rarely fit tidy boxes, so if none of the options felt quite right, pick the closest one and let the result be a rough guide. Dr. Catherine McLeod will look properly and give you an honest recommendation, whatever the quiz said. When in doubt, choose a check-up and we will take it from there.
