More than one aligner system, on purpose

Embrace Orthodontics offers Angel Aligner alongside Invisalign. Both are custom, clear, removable aligner systems; having more than one lets Dr. Catherine McLeod recommend the system that genuinely suits your case, rather than fitting every smile to a single brand. At your free consultation she will tell you honestly which option she recommends and why.

Virtually invisible

Clear aligners are discreet, so most people will not notice you are in treatment.

Removable for real life

Taken out to eat, brush and floss, so meals and cleaning carry on as normal.

Specialist planned

Every Angel Aligner case is planned and reviewed by Dr. Catherine McLeod herself, a registered specialist orthodontist.

Why we offer more than one aligner system

Most clinics work with a single aligner brand and fit every patient to it. We would rather have options. Angel Aligner and Invisalign are both series of clear, custom, removable trays that move the teeth gradually, and each has cases it handles beautifully. Offering both means Dr. Catherine McLeod can pick the tool that suits your bite and your budget instead of the one on the shelf.

Clear aligners like these treat a lot of common concerns: crowding, spacing, and many bite problems. They are not right for absolutely everyone, and where fixed treatment would work better, Dr. Catherine McLeod will say so. Some bites move more predictably with one system than the other, and that judgement is exactly what a specialist is for. You can compare the wider family on our clear aligners page, and read about our most-used system on the Invisalign page.

What to expect, from scan to retainer

It begins with a free consultation at our Spring Garden Road office in the South End. If clear aligners suit you, we take an iTero digital scan instead of putty impressions, and Dr. Catherine McLeod designs your aligners from that model. You will have a written plan and quote before anything starts, so you know the fee and the likely timeline up front.

From there you change aligners at home and come in every several weeks for a quick review. Treatment length depends on how far the teeth have to travel, and every mouth is different, so we give you an honest range rather than a stock figure. A retainer holds the result once you are finished. On cost, interest-free monthly plans start at $149 and we direct-bill most insurance; the full picture is on our financing page. We will also ask that you have had a recent dental check-up and cleaning, usually within the last six to twelve months, before treatment begins, so your teeth start out healthy.

Planned and reviewed by a specialist

Whichever aligner you end up in, a specialist orthodontist is behind the plan. Dr. Catherine McLeod is a registered specialist orthodontist in Canada, with multi-national specialist experience gained across Australia and Canada, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, with 16+ years and 4,000+ happy patients behind her. She plans and reviews every Angel Aligner case herself, and Embrace Orthodontics has been named Halifax's top orthodontic clinic in the Top Choice Awards six years running.

There is no referral needed and no waitlist, and most people are seen within a week or two of reaching out. Wherever it is clinically sensible she avoids removing adult teeth and steers away from surgery, and she will always tell you honestly what your options are before you decide anything.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Angel Aligner and Invisalign?
Both are custom, clear, removable aligner systems that straighten teeth gradually, and from your side each is a near-invisible tray you change on a schedule. They use different materials and planning software behind the scenes, so one may move a particular bite more predictably than the other. Dr. Catherine McLeod offers both at Embrace Orthodontics in Halifax and will recommend the one that suits your case at your free consultation.
How much does Angel Aligner cost in Halifax?
Your fee depends on the complexity of your case and how long treatment takes, so it is confirmed in writing at your free consultation rather than quoted as a package price sight unseen, because a minor correction and a full bite change are different amounts of work. Embrace Orthodontics offers interest-free monthly plans from $149 and direct-bills most insurance companies.
Who is a good candidate for Angel Aligner?
Angel Aligner suits many teens and adults who want to straighten crowding, spacing or a range of bite problems without fixed braces. Like any clear aligner, it works best when worn consistently and taken out only to eat and clean. Whether Angel Aligner, Invisalign or braces is the better tool for your smile is exactly what Dr. Catherine McLeod settles at your free consultation.
Is Angel Aligner as effective as braces?
For a good many cases clear aligners and braces reach a similar result; for some complex bites, fixed braces still do the job better. Dr. Catherine McLeod is a specialist orthodontist, so she will tell you honestly which approach suits your teeth. She plans both aligners and braces at Embrace Orthodontics, and has no reason to favour one over the other.
How long does Angel Aligner treatment take?
Treatment length depends on how far the teeth have to travel, and every mouth is different, so Dr. Catherine McLeod gives you an honest range at your consultation rather than a stock figure. Many aligner cases run between several months and around two years. Wearing the aligners 20 to 22 hours a day, out only to eat and clean, keeps things moving on time.
